The good news stories keep on coming in the Wheatbelt!

CALD client Koroheke relocated to the Northam area of the Wheatbelt from Christchurch in New Zealand. He attended Direction’s Career Centre Northam Office where he received assistance from CDO Vikki Sinagra.

Directions provided career assistance to Koroheke including local labour market information, training options, local services and one to one career guidance. Vikki worked with Koroheke to create a career action plan which included identifying short and long term career goals and the actions required to reach them. He also learned the differences of the application process in regional areas, including the importance of having a personal touch with his employment applications and dropping in to talk to business managers/owners in person where possible.

Koroheke went on to attend a resume workshop, create a resume and complete his traffic controller ticket which then lead to him securing a casual Traffic Controller role in the Wheatbelt.

Koroheke stated “I am really enjoying my new role as I have been able to see much of the WA countryside and meet a diverse range of people who are to become lifelong friends. The whole process has been interesting and had I not have attended Career Centre I would not have known the key information required to secure this role in the Wheatbelt. I would like to encourage other jobseekers, with the right help anything is possible.”

Directions would like to congratulate Koroheke on his hard work, and wish him the very best with his new job role.
