Adding a new Good News story

1. You must be logged in to OuResource
2. Click the ‘Add Good News’ link
3. Enter the title for your Good News post
4. Select a Featured Image to assign to your Good News post. Images should be of a reasonable resolution and no greater than 1Mb in size
5. Enter the category that your Good News item will appear under. Select at least the Good News category
6. Enter some comment tags that visitors can use to easily find your Good News post
7. Click ‘submit’ to post your Good News

Adding a new event to the Events Calendar

1. You must be logged in to OuResource
2. Click the ‘Add Event’ link
3. Add in the event title and event description
4. Click the Event category box that matches your event. You may select more than one.
5. To upload an image for your event click ‘Choose File’ . Select the prepared image from your hard drive. Images should be a maximum of 96 DPI resolution and 500 pixels square in physical dimensions.
6. Enter in the time and date of your event
7. Add in the event venue, if the venue is not listed click ‘Use New Venue’ fill in the boxes below. If you have entered an address for the event you can select to include a google map or a link to a google map.
8. Then click onto the organiser, if your organisation isn’t listed click ‘Use New Organiser’ and fill in the boxes below
9. Click ‘submit event’
10. Check your event is displaying correctly – if not use the browser back button to return to the edit page and correct any issues.

Submitting a new link listing (for public access)

On the “Add Link” page, select the categories you want your link to appear in from the drop-down menu. Use the Ctrl key to select more than one category. Then click the Continue button.
When the Listing Information section loads, enter the information you want to appear with your link.
1. The input section titled “Website” is the NAME of the website or other resource you want to share (not the website address).
2. Both the Short Description and Long Description are optional but are helpful in describing your link or resource to visitors looking for it.
3. The input section titled “Website Address” is the address of the web page, download or other resource you wish to link to. This URL must be accessible from the web. If it is a resource on your local network or PC, you will first need to upload it to the web. You can use our “Upload Manager” to upload your file to our server.
4. The link text is optional and only appears when someone mouses over the link to your resource.
5. In order to make your link available to our search system, please include some relevant tags. Tags are one word or a phrase separated by a comma.
6. Click the continue button to load the image selection section.
When the image selection section loads, drag and drop your image to the outlined area or click “Select images from your hard drive” and navigate to the image you want to use to highlight your link.
Ideally Images should be a maximum of 96 DPI resolution and 500 pixels square in physical dimensions.
1. When your image finishes uploading, a thumbnail will appear above the “Upload Images” area. You only need one image but you can choose to upload a total of two if you wish.
2. Once your image/images are uploaded select one of them to use as the listing thumbnail. If you only uploaded one image, it will be selected automatically.
3. Click the continue button to complete your submission
All links submitted are activated automatically and assigned to your account.
If you wish to edit or delete your link, you can log in and do so. There is a login button at the top of every page.
